Detailed guide for the Santorini-Paros route with schedules, attractions, and more.

    Santorini to Paros by Ferry

Paros sits in the heart of the Cyclades and is one of the easiest islands to reach from Santorini. The Santorini to Paros ferry runs daily during peak season (May–October), with two to four crossings per day in July and August. High-speed catamarans operated by SeaJets and Golden Star Ferries take just 2 hours, while conventional Blue Star ferries cover the route in around 3 hours and also carry vehicles. Tickets cost €45–€70 for high-speed and €30–€45 for conventional ferries; children under four travel free.

Boats arrive at Parikia, the lively whitewashed capital where most ferries dock right in the centre of town. From the port you can walk to Parikia's old town, the Panagia Ekatontapiliani church (one of the oldest in Greece), and the seafront tavernas in under five minutes. Buses to Naoussa, the postcard-perfect fishing village on the north coast, leave from a stop just behind the port every 20–30 minutes.

    Why Pair Santorini and Paros

Paros offers authentic Cycladic charm with sandy beaches, traditional villages and a more relaxed atmosphere than its famous neighbours. After three or four cinematic nights in Santorini's caldera-view hotels, Paros makes for a slower-paced base: spend mornings on Golden Beach or Kolimbithres, afternoons exploring the marble-paved alleys of Lefkes, and evenings sipping local wine at a Naoussa harbour-side taverna. Hotels and meals are typically 25–40% cheaper than in Santorini, making it a great budget-friendly second stop on a Cyclades itinerary.

    Booking and Practical Tips

Book at least three weeks in advance for August departures, and bring a printed or digital ticket β€” paper tickets must be issued at the port if you've booked through a Greek agency. Arrive 45 minutes before sailing in shoulder season and 60 minutes in peak summer, and head to the upper deck after departure for fantastic photos of the caldera as the ferry pulls away from Santorini.
